A Teacher’s Work Is Never Done: A Short Poem

teachers work.jpg

A teacher’s work is never done
The faces, the words, the hearts
That never seem to fade

A teacher’s work is never done
No matter the day nor the time
There is always one more thing

One more word to hear
One more hug to give
One more tear to dry

A teacher’s work is never done
By definition, by passion
The unrelenting drive to burn

A teacher’s work is never done
To change the heart, to challenge the mind
To move the immovable

Because there will always be hearts
There will always be minds
And there will always be the immovable

Another day
Another chance

A teacher’s work is never done
